| God spoke to several people through out the late 90's about starting a church in the community of Sandia Park, and Paako in the East Mountains. One of those people was Pastor John Torrison, who was pastoring at First Baptist Church of Tijeras at the time. FBC Tijeras, began meeting for an early service in the brand new Vista Grande Community Center in 1999. Vista Grande Church became an 'official' church in January of 2008. It is our passion to serve the East Mountain Community in several ways including, our Annual Liberty Music festival that is free to all who attend, our participation in Deputy McGrane day (formerly known as the East Mountain Celebration) and by reaching out to the children with Athletic Camps during the summer. Our church has purchased property across La Madera Rd. from East Mountain Charter High School. Now, we are raising money to begin building a multi purpose, multi phase facility in which to have all of Vista Grande Church's activities.
